Moving suddenly and unexpectedly into a
new rural home at the beginning of September and being without telephone or internet access for nearly 3 weeks has put me
WAY behind schedule in the building of this site.

“The Heart of Reiki” and “The Mystic Heart of Reiki” are the terms I have found which best point to
the inner transformational power of Reiki.
Japanese
spiritual culture has for centuries expressed itself in myriad forms. Amongst these there are elements which clearly relate
to fundamental aspects of Usui Reiki. They are both beautiful and challenging as I shall attempt to show here.
While
climbing a steep path towards the top Mount Hiei (from the summit of which Mount Kurama can be seen) with a spiritual wayraring
friend, Peter Mascher, we fell into conversation with an English~ and German~speaking coup[e.
Like
most Japanese people they had not heard of Mikao Usui or Usui Reiki so we asked them – as we did many others: “What
do you understand by the word 'Reiki'?” With bright eyes, arms widespread open and a big smile they said: “Here
is Reiki. The mountain, the sky, the rocks, the trees ~ the World is alive with Reiki.....”
